Putting vehicle and driver information right at your fingertips, this app lets you do everything from schedule service visits, check for recalls, view and record your maintenance history, contact roadside assistance and more. I have another sheet showing that 1414D 100067 would have been built in December of '65.Do you own a 2011 or newer Jeep® brand vehicle? if so, the jeep® Vehicle Owners app is an essential tool for you. You can see that models like the more common 1414 has much larger numbers. I'd believe that - not much call for a short wheel base dually! Look at 2406D - Which is a 4WD J200 Dually - these numbers suggest only 56 were built. My Panel Delivery - 1413 10075 was built March of '63. In that case 1412 10704 was built in February of '63.

I'm not sure if the number for each month is the starting or ending serial number, but I think they represent the starting serial number for that month. Any Dual wheel J-truck I've seen has always had a low serial number. Have you ever noticed how all of the more rare models you see seem to have low serial numbers? Your Super is #66, my Panel Delivery is #75. That way they could keep track of how many of each model were built. So a 1414 and a 1412 following ea other down the assembly line and both have 327s would NOT have sequencial SNs?
That would mean that wagoneers would have specific sequence numbers for ea trim line they are destine for, ie 1414 1414C 1414D. My factory holley 2bbl on my OHC 6 was dated Feb of 64. Other places to find date codes are on the intake manifold and the carb.

Look on the internet to find out how to decode LOF window glass and that will be your best bet.add 1 -2 months to the date of the window glass to determine the approx build date of the wag. No way to tell the model year of the early wagoneer by the VIN
I think they left the assembly line running for three years and just built em unlike GM or Ford that would have an official model change (indicated by VIN) at around July and August and showing up at dealers in Sept/Oct or later in the year. Personally, I dont think the Jeep factory saw a model year changeover as there was verituall NO difference between a 63 and 65 wagoneer OHC.
In a normal (General Motors or Chysler) world, this would have meant that the car carrier picked up the thing during the summer of 64 and had it to the dealer shortly thereafter. The engine casting date code says Feb of 64, the orig fuel pump says Mar of 64 and all of the LOF window glass is date coded as march of 64. My rig is registered as a 63 but after looking at specific components on the rig it was easy to tell that my wag was built around april to june of 1964 and probably should have been titeld as such. Pretty safe to say that if it has a Willys tag its a 63. Back up lights were an option from 63-65 and maybe later so the lack of back up lights cannot determine the year of the wagoneer.Īlso, does the metal tag on the door frame say "Willy's" or "Kaiser"? I had an early 63 that had a Willy's tag but my The re-issued title dated the truck as a 63.
The previous owner noted that the Wag was devoid of back up lights and thus, assumed, it was a 63. I have a "1963" wagoneer that is actually a late 64 or early 65.
